Entropic Topography

The photographic images in this collection are an exploration of textures and history discovered in a single chair crafted decades ago by my Uncle Cecil. I often find myself captivated by the effects of entropy on our world. Decay provides unique and often beautiful documentation of historical forces affecting an object. Use of the macro lens highlights miniature and often overlooked details that serve as evidence of time. With this project I am able to document the reemergence of long-forgotten materials slowly being freed from layers of paint that have concealed the true nature of the wood. In the most unlikely places we can find great beauty and a sense of connection with distant memories.
